ABOUT US
OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
This Credit Union, founded by its members, exists to promote
thrift and to provide convenient, competitive financial services
through dedicated volunteers and a professional staff, while
maintaining financial stability, adherence to legal compliance
and fostering loyalty among its members.
BEACON MUTUAL Federal Credit Union is a non-profit cooperative
financial institution owned by its members, and run by volunteer
board members. The credit union exists solely for the purpose
of meeting the financial needs of our member-owners. Rather
than paying profits to stockholders, the credit union returns earnings
to members in the form of higher savings rates, lower loan rates,
low or no fee convenience services, and outstanding personal service.
Originally chartered by the National Credit Union Administration
as the Lima Sohio Employees Federal Credit Union in May, 1958,
the field of membership at the time was open to employees of the
Standard Oil Company who worked in Lima, Ohio as well as employees
of the Sales Division of the Lima District, Standard Oil Company
working in surrounding counties. As the ownership
of the Lima Refinery changed throughout the years, the credit union
maintained the relationship with those employees and expanded the
membership to other select employee groups.
BEACON MUTUAL Federal Credit Union serves all employees of Cargill
Corporation, Fort Amanda Specialties, Husky Energy, Inc., INEOS
USA LLC, International Specialty Products, Inc. (ISP) and The Tom
Ahl Family of Automobile Dealerships. Membership eligibility
is also extended to the spouses, children and step-children, parents,
siblings, grandparents, grandchildren and in-laws of those employees. (Other
interested employee groups are welcome to join Beacon’s field
of membership. Contact
the credit union manager for details.) |
